COMMISSIONS

Oil Painting by Shana JamesArtwork can turn a house into a home, but often it can be difficult to find the right piece at the right size and price. Many people are surprised to learn that commissioning an artwork usually costs the same as buying a similar piece ready made. The advantage is that the picture has been custom made to suit the space you have for it.

If you are in the Perth metro area, contact me for an obligation free home/office visit. We can discuss the options and I can give you a fixed price quote to make a painting, print or drawing.

Commissioned oil painting by Shana James

The Story Behind

Commissioning an Artwork

This oil painting is 2.7 metres long and I painted it especially for Todd and Fiona for their new modern home.

When they had hung the painting I came back to see it in the house with my friend John Rice photographer who took this photo, Todd  mentioned how often friends and visitors comment on the painting.  Fiona said ” I’m so happy we got it”

6 Linocut PrintsWine Label Lino-cut Commission

The Jack Russell Wine Company is located in the Yarra Valley (Australia). Damian North, the owner and winemaker, contacted me in 2011 to commission a series of lino-cuts for his new "Journey Wine"

This was a very interesting and exciting project. It involved creating 6 artworks documenting Damian's journey as a winemaker. Each image will feature on a different label for the same wine and each image tells the story of a different chapter of the winemakers life.

Below are the wine labels on the bottles. Wine will be available in April 2012.
